Blog #4

Wow this month is flying by fast. Another week has passed, and the end of January is quickly approaching. Each year as I grow older and wiser, I am still constantly amazed by how the years, months, weeks, and days just fly by. This week has been a fun week of learning new skills and preparing for big things, and I'm excited to be writing this blog to share some information with everyone.

3d Printing

A few years back, I picked up an Ender 3 v2 Neo 3d printer from Amazon. A relatively cheap but reliable little printer, it's not like those expensive models that cost over $1k, but a more reasonable price of $300. I wanted to learn new things and always found fabrication to be an interesting industry. The learning curve was high, and the manual tramming of the printer drove me crazy. This was also back around the time I was thinking about taking a break from streaming, so the stress level was very high. I pushed the printer into the corner, and it started collecting dust. Well, fast forward to 2026, and with my vow to myself to make this the year I get back on the horse in many aspects of my life, I got my printer working more reliably. I learned many things, from cleaning the printer and a clogged nozzle, tramming the bed, and the qualities of different filaments. It took me 2 days of tinkering to finally get the printer to give me more reliable results. So I started downloading files and printing things out to get the hang of it all, had a failure or 2, but also had some successes. I printed out a "Small Glue Gun Holder" that was sadly too small for my glue gun, and a Yoda Extruder Knob for my printer that sadly was too small to fit. Successful prints I had though were a "Buddha Statue", "A stargate wall statue", "Spray paint pyramids", "Bed scrapper", "Trash Can w/Lid". I have been very happy with these results. As I get more experience with the printer, I am excited to make some of my own designs for around the house and even offer printing services. So many things to come on this front.

New YouTube Series

I finally got back into my Let's Play series releases with the release of Part 1 of a Horizon: Forbidden West playthrough with new episodes dropping every Saturday. I know people dont really enjoy them and with my average view time for the video sitting at 48 seconds the numbers show people dont really like watching it either. Its ok though, I am making the series for me and being myself. People will like it or not and that is ok. And in the end it is good editing experience and good to be back into a groove. I still plan on this year being the year I become a YouTube partner so I have alot of work ahead and I still have 48 weeks to do it!

Streams

Preparation has been coming along slowly on the stream prep this week, but progress has been made. I have been learning some new skills with After Effects and creating my own "Starting Soon" screen, and was just putting the finishing touches on it this weekend. Alerts and the nuts and bolts of chatbots and other stream-related addons still need to be redone and looked into. I plan on multistreaming as well among various platforms if my PC can take it; I still need to do a test on this. So as the blog title says.... "Coming Soon," So keep an eye out!

Blog Length

I'm still torn on how long to make these blogs. I don't know if I am making them too short because most people don't want to read a novel-length blog weekly, or if they are already too long for most people to read. Well, I will continue on with my ramblings, but please comment below on what you think about this topic if you have read this far. Please.

Final Conclusion

So this week, I have kept my Virtual Photography publishing consistent with daily posts on X and Bluesky. I have also added Instagram and Picashot to my rotation. I was even featured in the top 20 of the week for Picashot, which is a VP-focused social media platform, and I was very honored by this recognition. I am constantly working to improve my VP game. I have set up a rough plan for the future of the Discord, although some fine-tuning is still needed before implementation. So yeah, keep an eye out for changes and live notifications.

Thank you to anyone who has taken the time to read some thoughts from the mind of Aveege.
